On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite you to attend the GeoHubei International Conference 2014 to be held in Hubei, China from July 20 to 22, 2014. This Sustainable Civil Infrastructures using Innovative Technologies and Material is endorsed by a number of leading international professional organizations. 

One of the main objectives of the transportation authorities is to provide safe transportation facilities for effective and efficient movement of people and goods.  This conference will provide a showcase for recent developments and advancements in design, construction, and safety Inspections of transportation Infrastructures and offer a forum to discuss and debate future directions for the 21st century.  Conference topics cover a broad array of contemporary issues for professionals involved in bridge, pavement, geotechnical, tunnel, railway and emerging techniques for safety Inspections. You will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world for technical, scientific, and commercial discussions.

Hubei  is one of the largest commercial provinces and economic centers of China. It is being developed into a modern international economic, financial, and trade center. Recent rapid construction in China has provided great opportunities for bridge, pavement, geotechnical, and tunnel engineers to use their knowledge and talents to solve many challenging problems involving highway bridge structures, pavements, materials, ground improvement, slopes, excavations, and tunnels with innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies.

There are many mega construction projects in China as often labeled as “China's pride, world's envy!”  The conference will organize technical tours to visit those mega construction projects in addition to the Three Gorges Dam. 

As previous Geohunan International Conferences (2009 and 2011), selected papers from the Geohubei 2014 may be considered for publications in the special issues of (1) Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, ASCE (SCI Indexed) (2)  Journal of Testing and Evaluation, ASTM (SCI Indexed), (3)  International Journal of Geomechanics, ASCE (EI Indexed), subjected to a full peer review process as set forth by the Editors of ASTM International and ASCE.
