中国番茄和草莓面积和产量均居世界之首。本世纪以来，尤其是2014年由武维华院士倡议、浙江大学主办的“全国番茄研究与发展研讨会”至今，我国番茄和草莓的相关研究取得了长足进展。为促进学术交流和合作研究，由浙江大学、康奈尔大学和深圳理工大学共同主办，浙江大学农业与生物技术学院承办，Food Quality and Safety期刊和浙江省园艺学会协办的“番茄-草莓国际会议2025”（Tomato-Strawberry International Conference 2025），将于2025年4月16日至18日在杭州浙江大学举办。
