Hongxing Jiang Professor Texas Tech University

Dr. Hongxing Jiang received his B.S. in Physics in 1981 from Fudan University, China and Ph.D. in Physics in 1986 from Syracuse University, USA. Dr. Jiang devotes his research efforts to the advancement of III-nitride semiconductor technologies. His team has invented microLED technology, leading to the realization of self-emissive microdisplays and single-chip high-voltage DC/AC-LEDs. Currently, he directs the Nanophotonics Center at Texas Tech University (TTU) and is the inaugural Edward Whitacre endowed chair and Horn distinguished professor. Dr. Jiang has more than 400 journal publications and 20 patents with over 15,000 citations and an h-index of 69, edited 15 books, and delivered more than 140 invited talks. He relocated his research group to TTU from Kansas State University where he served as a university distinguished professor of physics until 2008. Dr. Jiang is the co-founder and owner of III-N Technology, Inc., which holds and controls a portfolio of microLED related patents. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), of the American Physical Society (APS), of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and of the SPIE-the international society for optics and photonics.
